Scope of Cover

The salient features of the policy are:

  • Policy covers the medical expenses while the beneficiary is outside the Republic of India.
  • It covers medical expenses both as inpatient as well as outpatient while in a foreign country.
  • It provides for Medical Repatriation to India.
  • Cashless settlement is provided through Overseas Services Provider.
  • Personal Accident Cover.
  • Loss of Checked Baggage.
  • Delay of Checked Baggage.
  • Loss of Passport.
  • Personal Liability.
  • Hijack Cover.
  • Trip Cancellation.
  • Missed Departure Up to the specific limits mentioned in the said policy.

Claim Steps for Medical Expenses Claim

1 :

The Overseas Provider should be intimated for Medical Emergencies and other claims.

2 :

The Overseas provider should be given the copy of the Policy together with a copy of the Passport for Identification details.

3 :

The Hospital where the Insured is admitted has to send the Pre authorization to the Service Provider who in turn will process the Claim and accord sanction.

4 :

In cases where the treatment is of outpatient nature and the Insured has intimated but not claimed whilst abroad can be claimed after return to India by submitting all the required documents to the service provider’s office in India.

5 :

In cases where the claims are rejected by the overseas service providers the Insured can lodge the claim in India for treatment taken through the Insurance Company.

6 :

Submit all the requisite documents to the insurance company for processing the claim.

Claim Steps for Accidental Death Claim

1 :

Report the accident to the Police Authorities & obtain the police report.

2 :

Intimate the Overseas Claim provider.

3 :

Submit all required documents to the Overseas Claim provider.

Claim Steps for Personal Accident Injury Claim :

1 :

Report the accident to the Police Authorities & obtain the police report.

2 :

Intimate the Overseas Claim provider.

3 :

Obtain Disability Certificate from the Doctor.

4 :

Submit all required documents to the Overseas Claim provider.

Claim Steps for Trip Cancellation Claim :

1 :

Submit all the requisite documents to the insurance company for processing the claim as early as possible.

Claim Steps for Loss of Baggage Claim:

1 :

Inform the airline authorities and lodge a complaint.

2 :

Obtain a PIR report from the airline authorities

3 :

Submit all the requisite documents to the insurance company for processing the claim as early as possible.

Claim Steps for Financial Emergency Claim :

1 :

Lodge a complaint with the local police as soon as possible and contact the insurer to lodge a claim for the loss due to theft/robber

2 :

Submit all the requisite documents to the insurance company for processing the claim.

Claim Steps for Trip Delay Claim :

1 :

Inform the airline authorities, If the delay is beyond 6 hours inform the airline authorities and lodge a complaint. Obtain a PIR report from the airline authorities

Inquest certificate issued by the Police authorities.

Documents Required for Personal Accident Injury Claims :

Written Intimation of Claim.

Copy of Final Police Report attested by issuing authorities ( if applicable)

4 :

Copy of FIR / MLC Copy / Spot Panchnama  attested by issuing authorities( if applicable)

Photograph of the injured with reflecting disablement ( If required)

Disability certificate from appropriate government authority/ treating doctor

Medical certificate from treating doctor

Leave Certificate from the Employer/ self declaration

Investigation reports of treating hospital attested by issuing authorities
